Painted in vibrant colors, the imagery on this large polychrome chinoiserie vase depicts flowers and trees in an oriental setting, a decorative scheme popular in the eighteenth century. At one time this vase was in the collection of delftware authority and author Jan Boyazoglu. The vase is in wonderful condition, with only the small chips and glaze abrasions expected in a piece dating from the eighteenth century.
