The Old Print Shop was founded in 1898 and has been in the same location in Manhattan since 1925. Since its inception the gallery has focused on the graphic arts, artists that use printmaking as an expressive medium. The land based gallery and our on-line store have large collections of American art from 1750 to contemporary, antique maps, and photography - vintage and contemporary. In 1997 we opened a book store that is associated with the gallery. The bookstore features American and European scholarly reference books on the arts and books created by artists as works of art in themselves, often called livres d'artist.

We invite our clients to visit our second location. Two years ago we purchased The Old Print Gallery in Washington, DC . The gallery is located in historic Georgetown just off M Street. The address is 1220 31st Street NW, Washington, DC 20007, telephone 202-965-1818. In our Washington gallery we have a fine selection, of American art between 1750 and 1950 and a good selection of our contemporary printmakers, as well as a fine selection of antique maps.

We welcome you to search our on-line inventory and would encourage you to visit the gallery on your next visit to New York City or Washington, DC. The online inventory can be searched in several ways. The easiest is by selecting a category pictured above or on the left navigation bar and then selecting a sub-category. You can also use our search feature located at the top of every page. Type in an artist/cartographer name, subject, location or a key word and the items that we have will come up.

Over the years we have helped build many American art collections, and our clients include a broad cross-section of worldwide collectors, including many of the world's major museums.

The gallery is a proud member of the following professional and trade organizations: The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA)
Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America (ABAA)
International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB)
The International Map Collectors' Society (IMCOS)
The National Antique & Art Dealers Association of America (NAADAA)
Confédération Internationale des Négotiants en Oeuvres d'Art (CINOA)
