A gine Chinese Export Candlestick in form of Maiden.

The candlestick decorated in famille rose is in the form of a Chinese maiden dressed in a flower-decorated flowing yellow robe with a long overjacket decorated on the lower section in green with green leaves and flowers and the upper section in pink with a cracked ice design and polychrome flowers. Around her shoulders and closed at her neck is a wonderful shawl of peacock feathers. Around her waist she wears a wide white belt with orange ribbons hanging below ending in tassels.

She rests an urn in the form of a lotus flower which is the candleholder. Her hair is pinned high on her head. The condition is good with repair to the tips of the lotus flower and her left thumb and the right pin in her hair.

This model is one of the most beautiful made in China for export to the West.

Circa 1765-1775.
