A Pair Of English Porcelain Sauce Tureens, Covers And Stands. Possibly Herculaneum.

The gilt footed sauces tureens each are painted with a wide border of flowers within oval cartouches against a sepia ground. They are intersperced with gilt, ochre and green foliate scrolls and small lozenges containing a flower; flanked on either side by gilt inward scrolling handles. The cover is painted with the same wide flower cartouche and foliate border and is topped by a gilt acorn finial. The undertray has an oval cartouche with a double-band gilt border, surrounded by the same wide floral and foliate border and flanked on each end with gilt handles. Some rubbing to gilt.

Dimensions: Tray: 9 inches long (20.9 cm), Total Heigth: 5 1/2 inches (13.9 cm).
