A superb Regency mahogany twin pillar dining table, the top with most unusual swivel mechanism allowing the two original leaves to be supported on a frame, each leaf of the top selected from finely figured mahogany centred by a large knot and each with triple reeded edge and held together with the original lacquered brass clips, the ends raised on turned pillars to four splayed legs with brass castors.

The swivel mechanism for the pedestal ends of the table is, as far as we are aware, unique and the quality of the timber selected by the cabinetmaker along with the table's fine colour, patina and original fittings make this an exceptional example.
