| An early Chippendale tiger maple slant front desk of a desirable small size, with four graduated drawers retaining their apparent original willow brasses and locks, the attractive stepped interior is maple and tiger maple with document drawers flanking the two center pigeonholes and with pigeonhole valances that mimic the original bracket base, strongly figured solid tiger maple, other primary woods are cherry and birch, secondary wood is pine, Eastern Massachusetts, circa 1760-1770, in excellent unrestored condition save for an older refinish, 41"H., 19"D., 35-3/4" carcass width, 37-1/4" width at base, 30-1/4" writing surface height.
