Rare and Outstanding Chippendale Inlaid Walnut Tall Case Clock inscribed Samuel Breneisen, Reading Reading, Berks Co., Pennsylvania.
The case is of a rare small size and composition having a broken arch top with tulip, berry, and line inlaid wedges for finials, carved rosettes, tulip, berry, and line inlaid tympanum, inlaid square tapering colonettes, swags of tulips inlaid above a waist door with fan, heart, diamond, tulip, berry and line inlays, flanked by fluted quarter columns, above a base with a central burl walnut medallion surrounded by fan dart, and line inlays, flanked by fluted quarter columns, all on stylized ogee bracket feet. The movement consists of an enameled dial bearing the inscription of the maker, the four seasons ornamenting each corner, a moon phase dial highlighted by a gentleman duck hunting, date dial, a seconds dial, and an eight day brass movement.
In an outstanding state of preservation being completely original!
