An extraordinary and rare period Louis XIV commode with magnificent Kingwood veneer and dore bronze mounts. Kingwood, a rare type of rosewood, was imported from Central and South America and applied to only the finest creations of the ebeniste. A similar commode, with less elaborate bronze mounts, is pictured on page 84 in Antique Furniture by John Andrews. Circa 1710. 48-1/2" wide x 32-1/2" high x 26-3/4" deep. #28-4778.
