With exaggerated knuckle arms. Connecticut; Pine or chestnut, maple and hickory, circa 1780. Wonderful form in old black paint with yellow line decoration over old blue green, over the original green. Some areas of wood loss on eack knuckle arm. The chair displays many chacteristics of the Tracy School of windsor chairs. i.e. The legs do not go through the seat, the arm supports are hickory and the large double ball construction under the knuckle arms. 32-1/2 inches OH, 16 inches SH.
