Attributed to John Needles, Baltimore, Maryland, circa 1820. The desk interior is identical to the labeled Needles desk pictured in Weidman, Classical Maryland 1815-1845, fig. 146 (1993). Height 87", width 40", depth 24". Interior shows figured maple with rosewood crossbanding and original black paint.
