A tureen of oval, slightly bombe shape modelled with vertical lobes, with upright scroll handles that curve aorund bearded mask heads, and standing on scrolling-foliate feet. The cover surmounted by a large finial of vegetable and leaf forms. The stand of oval, quatrefoil form with a moulded border of laurel leaves round the splayed rim, which is repeated round the rim of the tureen. The tureen and stand decorated at the centre with a flower bouquet. The finial, scrolling feet, and moulded rim of the tureen decorated in various shades of green enamel and heightened with yellow and brown enamels. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period (1736-1795), circa 1775-1785. Tureen: 29cm high x 37cm diameter Stand: 36cm long x 27.3cm width
