M/S CHR. SASS This classic builder's model was created contemporaneously with the 7100 ton, twin screw merchant vessel she represented, built at Kobehavn (Copenhagen) in 1930. Configured to the Holm & Wonsild company colors, her length overall was 365', beam 53' and depth 33'. The model and the ship where constructed by the legendary shipyard of Burmeister & Wain, and both constructed to extremely high standards. This type of shelter deck freighter, designed with its five cargo hatches, could carry a multiple of bulk cargo and had world-wide trade capability. The model is constructed in typical fashion of a solid laminated waterline lift hull, authentically painted and detailed per builder's plans. Solid wood superstructure assemblies are well presented and the model includes all rigged cargo cranes and booms. The numerous metal deck fittings are all nickel-silver plated and beautifully machined. The model is mounted in its original glazed case with turned mahogany posts, and silver engraved plaque. Scale: 1/8' = 1', Class: A, Case: 59' L x 23 1/2' H x 16' W
