"SOLD" A Swedish long case clock taken down to its original blue color. The clock face is signed "Ola Akesson"(the maker)and from "Galleryda"(Sweden). It is also initialed "OFB"which are the initials of the recepient of this clock.I understand that the clock was originally made as a wedding gift to "OFB" from Ola Akesson. The clock is decorated in the original blue(which Swedish colector's prefer)and has a "Rooster and a Crown" carvings. The rooster I am not sure what it means, but the crown you will see on the Swedish Coat of Arms(actually there are three Crowns)on a blue background. On the bottom of the clock is carved what looks like a tree of life.Tree's of life appear in folklore, culture and fiction, often relating to "immortality or fertility". This is an exceptionaly beautiful clock and I would classify it of museum quality. H.80 in.,W.25in.,D.8in.
