This attractive Maine clock has a wonderful old dark surface and appears to be in completely original condition. The case has a mahoganized surface which is untouched. The dial, which is untouched, has a radian fan and floral boughs in the arch above pronounced floral and geometric spandrels. The clock is signed with the maker's name and locale as well as numbered and dated below the center arbor "F. WINGATE / Augusta / No. 85 1811" The case rests on simple bracket feet with shaped returns.
