An exceptional New Jersey musical tall clock. The case labeled by Matthew Egerton, Jr. and the dial signed by Silas W. Howell, New Brunswick, 1797. The brass eight day movement having a painted dial with a four song music selector. The fine Hepplewhite case is enhanced by the pierced blind fretwork in the upper bonnet. The lower case with inlaid stringing, features quarter fans and drop bellflower decorations.
