The scene represented on this Hong bowl wraps around and shows the flags of the different countries present in Canton. Visible on the photo one can see the American flag which came about after the arrival of the "Empress of China" in 1785. On the left there the French Royal flag in white which disappeared with the French Revolution in 1794. This bowl can be precisely dated in between these two dates. It counts as the very rare items in Chinese export porcelain. (Diameter: 40cm) Price on request at the gallery.
