Boston, ca. 1760-1765. this table descended in the family of Edwin J. Hipkiss, curator of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He wrote Eighteenth Century American Arts: The M and M Karolik Collection. The Karolik Collection forms the nucleus of the furniture collection at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Hipkiss, a collector in his own right, assembled a choice group of Boston-made Queen Anne furniture which included this fine table.
