This example with round mahogany frames, features a lower glass decorated with a bucolic scene of a shepherdess leading sheep through a gate. Patent time pieces of this form are rare from this region and exhibit a number of distinguishing characteristics. Most easily noticed are the distinct side arms with rectangular bar dividers. A similar example can be found in Paul Foley's "Willard's Patent Time Pieces", page 85.
