This case which features wonderfully figured mahogany and a mellow old surface, is in an agreeable small size. The arched pediment, paneled base and distinctive ogee feet are typical Newport characteristics. The handsomely painted dial, which features floral spandrels and a classical gilt urn in the lunette, is inscribed on the back "Walter Cornell". Cornell signed many of his clock dials in this fashion. Height: 84 1/2" Width: 20". Depth 9 7/8"
