|Remeniscent of Fern Coppedge's colorful winter scenes, Carl Peters used color in the homes liberally to balance this composition of a stream at Winter. This particular painting was displayed at Peter's "One Man Show" in 1979 and sold for $450 then (outlined on verso). There are four other known paintings with similar compositions by this artist. This one appears to be the latest and representative of his final attempt on this subject. Other versions we have seen present the same stream without as much foliage and subtle changes in the homes.
