A Classical Bookcase Secretary.
This splendid bookcase secretary is in excellent condition with lovely crotch mahogany veneers. The tall stepped cornice rises above a cabinet with two glazed doors fitted with a brass astragal and engaged columns. The base contains two panelled doors, also with an astragal and engaged columns, above facet-shaped feet. The writing surface is covered with a fine blackberry-colored oilcloth which appears to be the first cover.
