A Very Rare Sheraton Secretary Bookcase
With reeded and paneled pediment. Retaining its original finials, diamond-glazed bookcase section with adjustable shelves, the lower case with reeded panels beside the drawers, all above bulbous-turned legs. The desk section has a pull-out writing surface, fitted drawers, and letter slots,all enclosed behind a paneled and veneered cylinder-style cover. Very few of these secretaries are known. This example retains a rich color, has exceptional proportions and presence, and exhibits many characteristics of the Seymours. A full family history is available.
