An Exceptional Queen Anne High Chest
Category: Furniture - American
SubType: Highboy/Lowboy
Origin: America-USA
Era: 18th Century
Height: 63 inches
An exceptional Queen Anne high chest: perfectly proportioned, with a triple-arched skirt and with beautifully shaped legs and feet. Only 63" tall, and retaining a fine old finish with great surface quality. Original escutcheons, cast brass handles made to match and in original holes. Mid-molding restored.

Purchased from a house and garage in Newburyport in the early 1990s, this high chest is signed on the back "1743 J M" and is attributed to Newbury cabinetmaker, Joshua Morse.

A rare combination of form, size, surface quality, history, and documentation.
