Among a very few known surviving sets, this Conncecticut Bonnet-Top High Chest and Dressing Table have features that make them especially unique. The carving of the fans, the applied molding that conforms to the carved drawer of the high chest, and the stepped-in waist molding are the more notable features. Both pieces have survived in a wonderful state of preservation. Both retain their original cast pierced brass and bail handles, central finial and drop pendants. The varnish finish of both cases has mellowed to a warm patina.
