Extremely Rare and Important William and Mary Cedar Settle, Signed, T. Dunscombe.

Thomas Dunscombe is listed as a carpenter, Pembroke, Bermuda, c. 1690. This settle, with its partially ebonized baluster and ball turned elements, rolling wave skirt and massive size is the most highly developed piece of Bermuda furniture from its period and may also be the earliest example of signed Anglo furniture made in the new world.
