Rare 19th century Civil War canteen with painted patriotic shield and crossed flags with the words 'In God We Trust' on the front side, the soldier's name, unit and statehood (C.H. Davis Co G. 12th Mass.) on the reverse side, with the original stopper intact, all in a great state of preservation, as found surface and condition.
