Welcome to George C. Williams, LLC American Antiques

With a reverence for the past and an optimistic eye toward the future, we are very pleased to announce the opening of George C. Williams LLC, American Antiques. We offer fine furniture of American origin, with a particular emphasis on Charleston and the South, in addition to contextually appropriate decorative arts.

George Williams has been deeply involved with the researching, selling, and marketing of American Decorative Arts for over 10 years, and lectures frequently on the topic, emphasizing connoisseurship and scholarship. Nine of those years were spent as an associate of Estate Antiques of Charleston, a prominent decorative arts institution for over 25 years established by Jim and Harriet Pratt. With the semi-retirement of Jim and Harriet, Mr. Williams has agreed to take over the ownership of the shop at 155 King Street, and will continue to uphold the practices and standards set forth by the Pratts.

We are committed to the acquisition, proper conservation, meticulous research, and interpretation of authentic objects, and we guarantee all of our merchandise to be as represented. We hope our shop at 155 King Street and www.georgecwilliams.com will become your first source for the best period furniture, decorative accessories, and fine art.

We invite you to join us on our exploration of American Material Culture.

Our King Street showroom is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday until 5 p.m.
