Very fine Continental Silver (800) Compote made in Germany c.1865. The mark is registered in 1888. Pierced, floral & bird motif with embossed center of a young couple. Dimensions are near and approximate. Condition is very good with minimum wear to age.

This exceptional and very rare enameled silver necklace by Margo van Voorhies Carr (Margo) was made in her workshop in Taxco, Mexico. Shown in the Morrill-Berk Book "Mexican Silver", page 174. Margo was probably the finest enamel artist in all of Mexico and her staff was considered some of the most highly trained.
